Akosua K. Darkwah is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Dean of the School of Information and Communication Studies at the University of Ghana.
Her research interests are in gender and work as well as gender and the media. For her studies on gender and work, she focuses primarily on the ways in which global economic policies and practices reconfigure Ghanaian women’s work. She is currently studying the baking industry in Ghana. Since 2022, she has been serving as the Convenor for the Network for Women’s Rights, Ghana’s largest network of women’s rights organisations and individuals.
