Juliana Makuchi Nfah-Abbenyi is Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature and Assistant Dean for Diversity in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at North Carolina State University, USA. Additionally, she is past president of the African Literature Association. She is the author of Gender in African Women’s Writing: Identity, Sexuality, and Difference; Your Madness, Not Mine: Stories of Cameroon, and The Sacred Door and Other Stories: Cameroon Folktales of the Beba. She is co-editor of Reflections: An Anthology of New Work by African Women Poets with Anthonia Kalu and Omofolabo Ajayi-Soyinka, and has guest-edited special issues of scholarly journals. She writes fiction under the pen name Makuchi. Her work has appeared in journals and magazines such as Callaloo, Obsidian, Mythium, Worldview, Thamyris, Yellow Medicine Review, Crab Orchard Review, and The Toronto Review.
