Mayada Hassanain

Mayada Hassanain is a researcher at the Feminist Economics project at IEJ, a Chevening Scholar and Atlas Corps fellow with a decade of experience as both a researcher and practitioner in the field of economics. Mayada holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Khartoum and a Master’s degree in Development Economics from SOAS. Throughout her career, Mayada has had the opportunity to work with diverse sectors including public, private, and non-governmental organizations. Her research interests focus on political economy, exploring how women›s lives are impacted by policies and social policies. Through her work, she has developed curricula and educational materials that focus on the interplay of economics, gender, and development targeted at youth in Sudan.
