Penelope Sanyu

Penelope Sanyu is a pan-African feminist Lawyer, Thinker, Writer, Scholar, and Agent of Positive Social Change and Transformation. With extensive experience in development work, she has dedicated most of her career to building the capacity of young people to innovatively engage with and influence policy changes in different communities. She has experience using social arts as a tool for socio-political transformation and has organised several social arts platforms at the national level. Penelope has a wealth of knowledge working with civil society organisations, the women’s movement and feminist movements using decolonial approaches to dismantle systems of oppression. Her work is centred on questions of how we can organise better and create spaces for meaningful engagement. Her heart beats for reproductive and social justice and ultimately a world where women are seen, heard, and valued.
