Mubarak Tukur
Mubarak Tukur is a History and Security Studies lecturer at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina, Nigeria. He is a 2019 Lisa Maskell PhD Fellow of the Gerda-Henkel Stiftung tenable at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, where he got his PhD in 2024. Mubarak examined and historicised the participation and roles played by women in peacebuilding in Northern Nigeria from 1952-2018. Findings indicated that women participated in peacebuilding by liberating and emancipating themselves from the shackles of patriarchy and entrenched their voices in the realm of grass-roots peacebuilding.
